If you ever have a choice of having a root canal corrected through the gums, say NO NO NO NO!!!
Have them pull the damned thing out and be done with it. You would not believe how much pain I am in at the moment. As a distraction, I am going around to all of the
Famous Grazing Blogs and leaving a footprint to keep them alive.
As an added distraction I am listing to Chapter 51 of This Week In Tech, TWiT, with Leo LaPorte.

Why don’t I just block comments. Then I would have that part of blogging taken away from me. I won't let these idiots do that to me.

Famous Grazing was started as an attempt to use every available blog publishing tool on the Internet. At the time of start up the choices were limited to Blogger, Web Page, Live Journal and a few others. Now there are dozens.
Our first site, Belltowernews.com, was started using Blogger when it was a private company and cost money. Then we open a
Web Page site on our own server. Since then we’ve gone from b2Evolution to
MSN Blogs. Examples are:
Field Grazing
Sea Grazing
Artistic Grazing
Grazing in Another Field
Butterflies Grazing
Dragons Grazing
Flickr Grazing
Ghosts Grazing
Grazed Bare
Grazing in the Brave Net
Grazing News
Random Space (MSN)
Multi-Grazing
Open Grazing
Other Grazing
Serene Grazing
Grazing at Xanga
Bell Tower News

Each of the above is free. There are pay sites, and some of the above offer bigger storage and more features, but each of them is perfectly okay without shelling out a dime.
Below is a snapshot of a page created on a trial basis at at the pay site, TypePad:

In this morning’s online NYT there was an On This Day feature imbedded in the story I was reading about Google Talk beta. (More on that later.) Today’s mentioned that it was on this date in 1920 the constitution was amended to allow women the privilege of voting.
Think about that. Women in this country of the brave and the free have only been allowed to vote for 85 years. This means there are people alive today that were alive when women couldn’t vote nationally. I know Montana and perhaps a few other states allowed women vote and run for localoffices, such as the school board, but they couldn’t vote for congressman, senator or the president.
Only 85 years. To quote myself 40 years ago, “that blows my mind!” It was something I knew in general, but to have it displayed as an aniversary for today brought it the front of the line.

It’s gotten so that every day I need to delete a comment from some Spammer who has lost her way. The last one offered to marry me. If she, if there is a “she”, knew what I looked like, she may not even falsely offer her self to me in marriage.

I could spend my time make entries of worldly wisdom, instead I spend most of my time deleting obscene comments. I don’t want to restrict comments, I dislike seeing that on other sites, but I am learning why they do it.
=30=
The only good thing about these obscene comments is Bravenet notifies me when they are added, this brings me back to this blog and I can remember to comment. Of course the negative side about that is most of the comments I make are about these obscene comments. I could ban comments all together, but what would be the point of that? The major point of blogs is the comment field.
RIP Peter Jennings.

Of all the blogs in the Famous Grazing Series, why is this the one that gets the nasty comments? Is it because it’s on the Bravenet server? I am not sure, but I am constantly deleting comments with fields that look like either gibberish or Asian characters.
In the words of my late sainted father, Knock in Off!
=30=
I only remember I have this blog when Bravenet reminds me, or tries to get me to sign up for another one of their services. Oh, well, I should make more entries here. It’s too hot in New England at the moment to do anything further than this...
